Hello all!
I am hosting Fun Monday for May 31st and since here in the states we are observing Memorial Day, the assignment is to post a photo of something patriotic or post a photo honoring a veteran.
Most towns and villages in the UK have War Memorials, which were erected in memory of the fallen. They were set up to remember the sacrifices of the Great War (WWI). Then the lists of names were added of those lost in WWII.
In my home-town the memorial is in the grounds of the Castle (ruined keep).

Lovely view and a nice monument! Thanks for sharing.
My Dad served in WW2 n the Korean War. So important to pay tribute to all brave soldiers. Thanks for sharing.
What a lovely monument. The head bowed is so eloquent.
Our Memorial Day is like your Remembrance Sunday, I think. I like the idea of towns erecting their own monuments to fallen heroes. The one in your photo is in a lovely setting looking over the town.
Thank you. May God bless all those families whose members made the ultimate sacrifice for all of us.
I love this! Thanks so much for sharing this war memorial in honor of the fallen soldiers in the UK.
What a beautiful monument...and so important to honor brave soldiers everywhere...I tend to forget.
Thanks for stopping by...I love your masthead. Makes me want to have a hammock, but then, I don't have two trees close enough together to hang one.

Thank you all for stopping by, I cherish your comments.
I think my home-town monument is something special, out of the ordinary. Thank you to the Church Lady for letting me share it with you.
